As we get ready for the Ohio Valley championship game at 8:00 PM CST tonight, the afternoon has been filled with 2-seeds losing in the semifinals. In the Northeast Conference (1) Central Connecticut State survived an overtime game against (4) Fairleigh Dickinson, but (2) LIU was not so lucky as they lost to (3) St. Francis PA. Moving over to the Big South we watched (2) UNC Asheville get their brains beat in by popular pool pick (3) Winthrop, setting up a potential bonus point opportunity in the championship game that will be played Sunday. Finally, being referenced for the first time in the blog, in the Southern Conference (2) UNC Greensboro was beaten by (7) VMI in what was a good back and forth game. Only The Diddlers and the duo of Rory and Webb picked UNC Asheville, so this didn't create a ton of pool losses. 🔻
The standings are up to date through the afternoon games and I will continue to keep them updated throughout tonight. Running Hoarses, Team TNT and Robb are the only members of the 1-loss club through a full week of conference tournament games. At the other end of the spectrum, B.I. is sitting in dead last all alone with 5 losses. Below is the way-to-early top 10, which is essentially meaningless but still fun to look at! 🥇
